YES GALLERY
We Are What We Can Carry showcases artworks made by the 5th grade class of Bennett Elementary School, part of the Onteora School District, in partnership with art teacher Roberta Ziemba. These stunning charcoal portraits made on paper bags are inspired by the portraiture work of Peggy Bacon (1895–1987), an American artist who made work in Woodstock and is best known for her satirical caricatures. Bacon’s work is part of WAAM’s permanent collection.
