JUROR: Karen Quinn, Senior Historian/Curator, Art & Culture, New York State Museum

The Small Works exhibitions present a stylistic and thematic range of small-scale, affordable artwork by artists within a 50 mile radius of Woodstock. We present two types of Small Works exhibitions – open and juried. The open exhibitions offer an opportunity for all artist members to exhibit their work and are organized in three shows presented alphabetically by artist’s last name. The juried exhibitions present works chosen by a selected juror and represent the aesthetic judgement and curatorial eye of the juror.

About the Juror – Karen Quinn is Senior Historian/Curator, Art and Culture at New York State Museum. An art historian she is especially interested in painters’ working methods as well as the attraction of artists to specific places, including locations throughout New York. She is currently researching and building the museum’s collection of art, including decorative arts, paintings, works on paper, architecture, photography, popular culture, literature, and music related to New York State.
