Richard Segalman: Contemporary American Impressionist

This retrospective of work by the beloved American artist Richard Segalman spans the artist’s six-decade career and features twenty-four works of art including oil paintings, watercolors, pastels, drawings, and monotypes. The exhibition is curated by WAAM’s Executive Director Nicole Goldberg with the assistance and generosity of Alice Hoffman and William Meek. Works on view are drawn from regionally-based collectors, the artist’s estate and WAAM’s permanent collection.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Richard Segalman was born in Coney Island, on March 13, 1934 and died on July 6, 2021, at age 87. He lived in Woodstock, NY, and Greenwich Village. His artwork is in the permanent collections of over 40 museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, DC, Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and the Woodstock Artists Association & Museum.
