“During this extraordinary time, I found myself walking daily along the same route in my beautiful neighborhood, and got to know it’s flora intimately. But what struck me as I continued to walk and look were the many intrusions of human intervention and control, and, oddly, how in fact ‘human’ they appeared to me. They became friendly— or not so friendly— companions, as they tried to exert their control over nature. Painting these became a welcome meditation for me, as my work is usually more abstract and painterly (more like the nature depicted around the objects). But for these I sat with an 001 brush, attempting to realistically depict the details of a bolt or a chain or a rusted screw hole, and I found surprising solace in this practice.” – Maxine Davidowitz

The shipping cost of the piece, which is $75, will be invoiced separately
