Notes from the Archives

Filed in Notes from the Archives by on July 5, 2018

Having recently gone to see the summer exhibition at the Historical Society of Woodstock on the history of the Woodstock Fire Department, it reminded me of this great photograph in the WAAM Archives of a Woodstock fire truck passing by the Village Green (c. 1950s). How this particular photograph came to the Archives is unknown, as is, unfortunately, the photographer, but it is none the less a wonderful photograph. While the vast majority of the materials in the WAAM’s Archives relate to Woodstock’s artists or to the history of the Woodstock Artists Association & Museum itself, there are occasional items which were donated over the decades which seem to be linked more generally to Woodstock.  If you have any archival materials which relate to a Woodstock artist (or artists), or especially, as the WAAM prepares for its Centennial in 2019, which relate to the history of the WAAM, and you wish to donate them to the WAAM please be in touch.
