High Meadow School: 2nd & 3rd Grades

February 1 – March 1, 2020

Reception, February 8, 4-6 PM

YES GALLERY

WAAM worked with High Meadow School’s 2nd and 3rd grade to support classroom projects in social studies and environmental science.  The 2nd grade created portraits of family members in connection with a family history project. The 3rd graders created Cats in the Catskills to help start a unit on the Catskill Watershed.  We love any opportunity to connect works from our Permanent Collection to classroom learning!

Art for Education at WAAM

Education Curator Beth Humphrey works with over 500 students annually across 9 area schools, collaborating with teachers to create innovative and relevant arts-in-education programming. WAAM provides free in-school residencies, annual field trips and fun, hands-on activities. The artwork that students make during these WAAM programs can viewed throughout the year in the Youth Exhibition Space (YES) Gallery.
