This presentation showcases a series of figurative drawings by H. James Hoff that explore the nuanced, often overlooked dimensions of human existence. Blending observation with imagination, Hoff’s work examines the particular joys and sorrows of everyday life. Works are marked by a minimalist aesthetic, rendered in latex, acrylic, and vinyl paints, along with acrylic graffiti markers favored for their distinctive line quality. Drawing from a variety of sources—including personal encounters, vintage photographs, and his own imagination—Hoff constructs a visual language that is both deeply personal and universally resonant.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
H. James Hoff is an artist living and working in the Hudson Valley. He received his MFA from the Louisiana State University Print Workshop and spent his working life as a scenic artist for Broadway, movies, and films in New York City.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
