Radius 50 is a survey of some of the very best art currently being made in our Mid Hudson/ Catskills Region. Artists living within a 50-mile radius of Woodstock are eligible to submit 5 images for consideration online by jurors Candice Maday, Director and Curator and Alyson Baker, Founder and Executive Director of the River Valley Arts Collective. Work in all media will be considered.

About the Jurors

Alyson Baker is the former Executive Director of The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, serving for over eleven years as Executive Director of Socrates Sculpture Park East River, NYC. She also served as Director of Pat Hearn Gallery, Associate Director of Gagosian Gallery, and Curatorial Assistant in the Contemporary Art Department at the Carnegie Museum of Art. With over thirty years of experience in the arts, she has worked on more than 300 exhibitions with over 800 artists including both emerging artists and world-renowned figures such as Mark di Suvero, Kiki Smith, Chris Burden, Damien Hirst, Richard Serra and Wendell Castle.

Candice Madey founded the pioneering Lower East Side gallery On Stellar Rays in 2008. Prior to that Candice worked on projects with the Museum of Modern Art, New York; MOMA PS1, Queens; Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; The Whitney Museum of Art, New York; Bronx Museum of the Arts, New York; The Art Institute of Chicago; The Rose Museum, Waltham, MA; Los Angeles County Museum of Art; The Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive; The Pulitzer Foundation, St Louis; Ballroom Marfa; Contemporary Austin; Dallas Contemporary; Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston; Whitechapel Gallery, London; Centre d’Art Contemporain, Zurich; Kunsthaus Baselland; Lenbachhaus, Munich; Kestnergesellschaft, Hannover; Fondazione Prada, Venice, among other institutions.
