SAT. OCT. 12, 4 PM Panel DiscussionMap of the (ART) World, moderated by Carter Ratcliff, art critic and author, with Julie Torres, Co-Director of LABspace, Sharon Butler, founder of the blog Two Coats of Paint and Jason Rulnick, Senior Specialist in Contemporary Art at Artnet.
When Soho galleries dominated the art world there was a sort of unwritten map: who was showing where, and with whom. Fast forward to 2019 and that map has been obliterated and replaced by a broader, wilder, more chaotic landscape. Materials have changed and boundaries have been blown open. Or…maybe not. Perhaps there still is a coded hierarchy, perhaps there are many art worlds. Our esteemed panel will hash this out with Q&A following. Moderated by Carter Ratcliff, art critic and author, with Julie Torres, Co-Director of LABspace, Sharon Butler, founder of Two Coats of Paint and Jason Rulnick, Senior Specialist in Contemporary Art at Artnet.
Please join us at 4pm on Saturday, October 12 and stay after for the reception/viewing of the work available in our WE THE ARTISTS Contemporary Art Auction.
