Introduced in 2017, Far and Wide National is open for applications from artists living throughout the United States. Artists are invited to submit up to 5 works that are innovative in both form and content or that have been created within the boundaries of traditional genres but nevertheless break new ground. Submissions are made online only. Please read the online application for important details. This year’s jurors, Jackie Hoving and Andrew Prayzner, Co-directors of Tiger Strikes Asteroid, New York, bring a distinctive point of view to the selection of the artists whose work is on display. There are pieces that are innovative in both form and content and also works that have been created within the boundaries of traditional genres but nevertheless break new ground. Visitors to WAAM will experience a unique national survey of the art currently being created across our country.

About the Jurors – Tiger Strikes Asteroid, Jackie Hoving, Co-Director and Curator, Andrew Prayzner, Co-Director and Curator TSA in NYC. Tiger Strikes Asteroid is a network of artist-run spaces with locations in Philadelphia, New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Each space is independently operated and focuses on presenting a varied program of emerging and mid-career artists. TSA’s exhibitions and projects have been featured in numerous print and online publications including The New York Times, The Chicago Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Hyperallergic, Art F City, The Huffington Post, L Magazine, Whitehot Magazine, Two Coats of Paint, Artinfo, Artnet News, Beautiful Decay, and the artblog.
