Woodstock Artists Association & Museum Centennial Exhibition
Part 2, Discussion
Saturday, July 10
6:00pm | Virtual Event
Exhibition curator Tom Wolf will interview distinguished artists, Bruce Dorfman, Mary Frank, and Elliott Landy, who are all featured in the current show honoring the 100th anniversary of the Association. Bruce Dorfman studied with Arnold Blanch and Yasuo Kuniyoshi at the Art Students League and lived in Byrdcliffe while making his art in the 1960s. Mary Frank came from a Woodstock family and has been active there since the 1970s. Elliott Landy was one of the first music photographers to be recognized as an “artist.” His photographs of Dylan and The Band during the years they resided and recorded in Woodstock, and his coverage of the 1969 Woodstock Music Festival, for which he served as the festival’s official photographer, captured the attention of a new culture seeking spiritual and artistic freedom. The artists will reminisce about their years living as artists in Woodstock and will discuss their works that are currently on view in the Centennial exhibition at WAAM.
