Take This Down: Works on Paper– Making art is sometimes a simple act of notation. The artist records what she thinks is important for us to notice, remember, or explore: a color, a face, a thought. When the recording is done on paper its inherent fragility offers an especially fresh look at what the artist deems worthy of note. This show highlights drawings, prints and photos by Woodstock’s regional artists.
About the Juror – Joy Taylor is a painter, sculptor, and collage artist. She is represented by Craig Krull Gallery in Santa Monica and Galerie Gris in Hudson. Most recently she curated Ink. Re-Ink, which exhibited drawings and prints at Atwater Gallery in Kingston. She has created large scale public art projects in conjunction with MTA Arts for Transit on MetroNorth, and for the Albany International Airport. She is the recipient of a Pollock-Krasner grant, NYFA grant, and several residencies at Women’s Studio Workshop in Rosendale.
