FOUNDERS GALLERY

Ruptured Symbiosis is an immersive sculptural installation rooted in the artist’s experience with the evolving relationship between body and self. Having confronted a deep discomfort with her own body before chemically altering herself, it was as though a substrate began to deteriorate, melt away, and allow her to see herself in a new way. This installation speaks not only to this process of transmutation, but also to the artist’s developing sense of control over her material state. This exhibition marks the fourth annual call for installations in the Founders Gallery,
