Of Wax and Resin: Luminous Encaustic Painting
Saturday, February 28 | 1-3pm
Join Regina B Quinn, encaustic artist and instructor, for an overview of the ancient history of hot-wax painting and demonstrations of contemporary techniques she uses as she creates luminous and textured artworks with molten wax paints. You’ll learn about encaustic materials and tools and how they are used on paper, panels, and other porous surfaces to create works that seem as though they are lit from within. Then linger a while to try your hand at applying encaustic paints to paper creating your own wax painting!
