This solo presentation includes a selection of works by printmaker Karen Whitman, whose linocut cityscapes capture the complexity and spirit of New York City. Although Whitman has lived and worked in Woodstock since 1994, her linoleum block prints remain deeply rooted in her 18 years spent in New York City. Her work celebrates the graphic clarity, dramatic contrasts, and angular structures that define the urban landscape. Working exclusively in black and white, Whitman embraces the challenge of shaping narrative, atmosphere, and emotion through stark light, shadow, and texture.
