DREAM SPACE: The Teen Resiliency Project

EXHIBITION: October 13–December 31, 2023
OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, October 14, 4-6pm

TAC STAIRWELL GALLERY

This Teen Art Connection (TAC) exhibition includes work by young artists created at WAAM and Jane St. Art Center as part of a partnership with the Poets and Artists Youth Program. Works on view were made in a variety of media and reflect diverse experiences, perspectives, and techniques that students learned throughout their participation in this program. Along with the artworks, poignant letters of encouragement by anonymous youth to future generations will also be on view.

Creative self expression, respectful sharing and mindful exercises form the basis of the program, designed to support and empower youth who are overcoming diverse challenges. The Poets and Artists youth program launched in spring 2022 as part of Senator Michelle Hinchey’s anti-gun violence youth initiative, under the Youth Services Division of Family of Woodstock.
