COVID-19 Resources for Artists
Welcome. We may be in quarantine, but we are not alone, everyone, everywhere, is in this, together. We have compiled a list on some of the best resources we have found for artists and our community, including some local hotlines, the CDC’s current guidelines for public health and safety, as well as links to a number of websites that we found had thorough and regularly updated resources for artists.

- Art is Alive is a solidarity effort aimed at providing resources, spreading awareness and building connectedness within the artistic and creative freelance communities impacted by the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. Created by artist Rhiannon Giddens, and in collaboration with Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman, Art is Alive connects fans to artists in a stay-at-home climate. https://www.artliveson.com/resources
- The COVID-19 Freelance Artist Resources website is just what it sounds like: An aggregated list of free resources, opportunities, and financial relief options available to artists of all disciplines.
- Sweet Relief, which provides financial assistance to career musicians facing illness, disability, or age-related problems, has started a COVID-19 fund for those affected by the virus and fallout therefrom.
- Artsy.net put together a list of 10 university art classes you can take for free online.
- Arts Mid-Hudson is pulling together resources, including emergency funding, on its website.
- Rauschenberg Emergency Grant – NYFA and the Rauschenberg Foundation have teamed up to offer visual and media artists and choreographers in the US grants of up to $5,000 for medical related emergencies. Deadline: rolling basis
- NYFA Emergency Grants List – The New York Foundation for the Arts has a running list of additional emergency grant opportunities for artists, categorized by disciplines.
- Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant – The Foundation for Contemporary Arts offers Emergency Grants between $200 and $2,500 for visual and performing artists. They review applications once a month, so you can quickly take advantage of momentum or solve any budget errors. Deadline: rolling basis
- Gottlieb Emergency Grant Program – This emergency grant provides financial assistance to painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs are the result of an unforeseen incident, and who lack the resources to meet that situation. Deadline: rolling basis
