WAAM is proud to partner with the Wassaic Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, that uses art and arts education to foster positive social change. We nurture connections between our artists and our neighbors facilitating a mutual broadening of perspectives and respect across economic and cultural boundaries.

Wassaic Project’s Summer Education Fellows: Elizabeth Allen-Cannon, Katy Halfin, Nadia Olman and Jean Carla Rodea, will lead a 5 day intensive camp for local Wassaic youth that focuses on performance art and installation. This camp is greatly influenced by the ideas of John Cage, specifically, his use of chance and the creative ways in which he utilized performers in his works which helped inform and shape avant-garde movements like Neo-Dada, Fluxus, and Conceptual art. On display at WAAM in their YES Gallery is a culmination of these 5 intensive days of making and performance.
