IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN…
We are welcoming new Board members—both artists and art lovers. Candidates must be WAAM members. Board members are voted in from a slate of candidates at the annual August members’ meeting.
Board members are part of a team dedicating their time and expertise to the life and stability of an organization that preserves the area’s important artistic heritage while also bringing noteworthy contemporary exhibitions to the community. WAAM is a valued cultural organization serving Woodstock and the wider Hudson Valley. Board members work as part of a close congenial group. Members are recognized by the community for their generous and capable contribution.
Board members have the opportunity to work with a talented group of staff, artists, curators, art collectors and volunteers. They are a valuable resource for WAAM by reaching out to make connections to the community, attending special events, and guiding the organization into the future. They share their time and talents with each other and collaborate to preserve WAAM as an outstanding venue for historical and contemporary art. The Board functions as a collegial, close group of like-minded art enthusiasts, and each member gains as much in personal satisfaction as they give in support.
Please consider joining our Board. We meet once a month on a Sunday morning for 1-1 ½ hours. Committee Chairs meet monthly with their committees and provide reports to the Board.
We consider equity, diversity and inclusion drivers of institutional excellence and seek an expansive range of participation, thought and action. It is our hope and expectation that our members, partners, and key stakeholders reflect and embrace these core values.
