Note for artists: All jurying is from actual works, except Far & Wide: Woodstock Regional and solo shows. Click here for submission guidelines. WAAM juried and other member exhibitions are planned and jurors selected by a volunteer committee of artist members and Board members.

2013 Art Submission CalendarAbout submitting your work: You may submit one work for each Main Gallery exhibition and one work for each Small Works show (open to all subjects, themes, etc.). All media are welcome and jurying is done from actual works, except for the Regional and Solo Show jurying. If sold, works may be replaced during the exhibition subject to the approval of the gallery director. Size limit for Small Works is 15 x 15 in. including frame and 24 x 24 x 24 in. for sculpture.
There are no size limits for Main Gallery shows, except for the Active Member, themed shows and Holiday shows. Submission days for Small Works shows are the same as Main Gallery shows, unless otherwise noted. Gallery commission for work sold is 40%. See full guidelines for more info. Juror: Carrie Haddad, owner and gallery director of the Carrie Haddad Gallery in Hudson, NY which she founded in 1990. Considered one of the top galleries in the Hudson Valley, the Carrie Haddad Gallery features the work of many of the region’s best artists.
Harriet Tannin Award ($100)
Juror: Betsy Jacaruso, a painter best known for her large watercolor botanicals. She is also a teacher at the Barrett Art Center.

A group show of work in any media, any size.
Juror: Charlie Grosso, [hotographer and director of Baang and Burne Contemporary Gallery, Chelsea, NYC. Her work revolves around the themes of home, food, sex and personal narrative. Her series “ Wok the Dog” a photo expose of food markets around the world has been widely exhibited in Los Angeles, New York and across Europe and in 2008 she won the Public Choice Award for Documentary Photography, the Px3 Prix de la Photographie in Paris, France.

Juror: Annina Nosei, curator and founder of the Annina Nosei Gallery in 1981. Based in Soho and later Chelsea, the gallery was instrumental in introducing Italian, German and American artists painting in the style which came to be known as Neo-Expressionism. Nosei is probably best known for being Jean-Michel Basquiat’s first art dealer.

Open call to artists to submit Little Gems (small works under 15 inches in all dimensions) for the WAAM Benefit Splash!, Saturday, June 22. All media welcome. Non-juried. Work must be a full donation to WAAM and ready to install (framed, wired, etc.). Works will be sold for $100 each. Participating artists will receive twocomplimentary tickets to the event.

Juror: Robert Curcio, who has been involved in the international contemporary art world for 20 years as an arts entrepreneur, writer, curator, dealer and consultant to fairs and galleries. In addition, Curcio is the Event and Exhibition Manager of www.thegreatnude.tv and was co-owner of Curcio Spector Gallery and co-founder of the Scope Art Fairs.

Stephen Doherty, who served as editor-in-chief for American Artist magazine for 31 years and who is now editor of PleinAir magazine, dedicated to people who enjoy artwork based on direct observation of nature. Author of a dozen art books, he has also exhibited his own paintings in solo and group exhibitions and judged art exhibitions for museums and art societies.
