ARCHIVES
The WAAM Archives & Library preserve information relating to the lives and careers of artists associated with the Woodstock region.
Our most important archive materials include original copies of personal diaries and letters; original clippings, exhibition announcements, and catalogues; many personal and rare photographs from artists’ and friends’ estates; and a series of taped interviews recorded in the 1970s. Correspondence relating to New Deal / WPA art projects in the 1930s and 40s, as well as important documents and recordings from the Woodstock Art Conferences of the 1950s also exist, the latter including panelists Robert Motherwell, Barnett Newman, and Ben Shahn.
